Summer in Pinecrest
Friends of Pinecrest President’s Message
I would like to introduce myself as the new President of the Board of Friends of Pinecrest. My name is Cecile Focha, but everyone calls me CiCi. My family has owned a cabin in Pinecrest since 1945. Five generations of my extended family have enjoyed the wide array of recreational experiences in the Stanislaus National Forest's Pinecrest Basin. I can think of no better way to continue advocating for Pinecrest and all those who build lifelong memories here, than by serving as President of the Friends of Pinecrest.
I have experience serving on the executive boards of various non-profits. I also have decades of experience working with public safety agencies, elected officials, government entities and motivated members of the public. With support from previous leaders and the Board, I will guide Friends of Pinecrest in the traditions of enhancing and preserving the Pinecrest recreational experience. As an organization we will continue to inform, educate, and advocate for our members and the protection of all the recreational uses of Pinecrest Basin.
Friends of Pinecrest has been an important resource for many worthy organizations in the Pinecrest Basin. Through our fundraising efforts, we donated significant funds to the Pinecrest and Strawberry Fire Departments, the most important entities in keeping Pinecrest safe during all the seasons. We have also donated to other local non-profit organizations who
have a similarly aligned passion for the Pinecrest experience.
I genuinely appreciate all our members for supporting Friends of Pinecrest through your annual dues and additional donations. But in order to continue our efforts, we need more Board members. I hope you will consider volunteering to become a member of the Board. It’s not a huge time commitment and you’ll enjoy the satisfaction of being an integral part of the Pinecrest experience for everyone. Feel free to reach out to any Board member to get more information about the positions.
We value your ideas and would like to hear from our members about any matters concerning the Pinecrest Basin.
I hope that you all have a wonderful summer and hope you will consider joining us on the FOP Board.
Cici Focha, FOP Board President

Friends of Pinecrest was established in 2014 for visitors like yourselves, who love the area, are concerned about its future and want to maintain it for generations to come. That’s what Friends of Pinecrest is all about. We work collectively with many organizations who have influence in and around the Pinecrest Basin. Our goals are likely yours.
