The purpose of FOP is to inform, educate, and advocate on behalf of our members regarding the protection of the recreational uses of the Stanislaus National Forest's Pinecrest Basin. The geographical location of interest is within the Stanislaus National Forest boundary primarily centered in the Highway 108 region around Pinecrest L,ake.

A primary purpose of FOP is to interact cooperatively with the Forest Service and other interested parties in the design, utilization, and management of recreation facilities and opportunities. FOP intends to interact with the Forest Service on such matters as sanitation, fire safety, public health and safety, and general recreation and management of Pinecrest Lake inparticular.

FOP is organized and operated exclusively for the purposes set forth in this document and within the meaning of the Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)3. FOP does not contemplate pecuniary gain or profit to its members thereof and is organized for nonprofit purposes. FOP will comply with all Federal Internal Revenue Codes and the appropriate Sections of the California Revenue and Taxation Code in order to qualify and remain as a nonprofit organization.
